{"id":227,"date":"2023-09-06T20:22:24","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T20:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.libertymanagement.us\/fda-support\/?p=227"},"modified":"2023-09-21T21:17:56","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T21:17:56","slug":"us-fda-certificate-of-free-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.libertymanagement.us\/fda-support\/2023\/09\/06\/us-fda-certificate-of-free-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"US FDA Certificate of Free Sale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdahelp.us\/fda_registration\/fda-export-certificate.html\">Certificate of Free Sale<\/a> (COFS) is a document issued by US FDA that certifies that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdahelp.us\/dietary-supplement.html\">dietary supplement<\/a>, food for special dietary use, or medical food meets all the regulatory requirements for sale and distribution and is either legally sold in the US or can be legally marketed from US. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdahelp.us\/fda_registration\/fda-certificate-of-free-sale.html\">COFS <\/a>is used primarily for products intended for export to foreign countries, and it provides assurance to foreign buyers or regulatory authorities that the product is safe, of high quality, and complies with US regulations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The COFS typically includes information about the product, its manufacturer, exporter and destination country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manufacturers looking to obtain a COFS from the FDA will need to submit an application, along with product labels and applicable fees.
